The mood of this book is a toss up between light hearted/suspenseful/thoughtful.We meet Cassie Grey, an up and coming reporter on the trail of a group of shifter killers. She is close to making a discovery of the perpertrators when her place becomes the target of a hate message right through her front window. She calls her brother, Neil, and he sets up a safe place for her to go while he has to go out of town on business. Cassie is taken to Neil's friend,Luke, a shifter still not quite out of the closet. Cassie remembers him from her graduation eight years ago and her attraction to him at that time. Now she's a woman who knows what she wants, and she wants Luke. This is where the fun begins since Luke feels he owes it to his ole college friend to protect his sister while said sister is trying her best to seduce him. That's when Luke realizes Cassie is his true mate and things get a tad interesting not to mention exciting!
This is a great read and it delves more into shifter myths/stories about true mates. This story will keep your blood pumping in your chest

Good read. Characters are self assured. I see this more as a novella because the pace of the story is pretty quick. The descriptions of Aspen Valley makes me want to take a road trip to beautiful mountains. A nice getaway book.
Cassie Grey had a break-in at her townhome unit following a threat because of an article she had written about an investigation of shifter murders. The police asked her to stay with someone for a few days for her protection, so she said she could go to her brother’s home. However, Neil had to go out of town for a few days, so he called his buddy Luke, asking him to stop by the nearby cabin where he was putting Cassie and just check on her now and then. But Neil’s cabin had leaked and was not currently useable. Instead, they drove to Luke’s cabin. His lodging units were all rented out for the upcoming tourist season, but he had a small place where staff personnel could stay, at least until he hired someone as Office Manager. Cassie could help out at the office in return for staying at the small cabin.
Luke was called to a meeting of his fellow scouts who were responsible for the safety of the pack and investigating the murders that were escalating. He was sure they were connected to the investigation Cassie had been conducting for her article. Maybe she had gotten close to identifying the killer? With the murders still happening locally, has Cassie stepped into even greater danger than before? Will Cassie and Luke get their chance to fall in love?
I really enjoyed this book. It was fun, yet suspenseful, with a good storyline that moved along quickly. The main characters are very likeable. I definitely recommend it.
He's older that her and trying to do the right thing and leave her alone. She was able to help the shifters with her research on a story to get the murders and finding without sex that she's his soul mate and being a gentleman. But he cared to much.
This novel is an awesome addition to the Aspen Valley Pack series. I found it to be very intriguing and packed with action. I especially liked the end when Luke revealed his true wolf form. I think this series is shaping up quite nicely, and I can hardly wait for the next episode. Kudos to you Ms. Monroe on a job well done. You have a true fan in me....
Seems there was a chemistry between Luke and Cassie right from the start. Neil calls his best friend to ask for a favour. Cassie needs a safe place to stay after her investigation into a series of shifter murders puts her into danger. After meeting once again things really start to ignite. Cassie is all woman now, lush and curvy and she has Luke twisted up into knots.
I really enjoyed the romance between these two. Great read!

A Sexy Shifter that will make you smile, or drool.
It has mystery, danger, older men with sex appeal, and best friends, one with a beautiful little sister whose gotten herself in a bit of trouble.
Cassie and Luke are fantastic characters you'll get a kick out of.
He's so dang sweet and sexy and Cassie is pretty dang determined when she wants something, lol.
Mature readers 18+ Strong language and sexual content.

Loved it!! Ms Monroe has done it again with the continuation of this awesome series.
As usual Ms Monroe wrote another great, page turning story.
This time the story is centered around Luke and Cassie. Cassie is a journalist investigating
the murders of shifters, while doing so, she received a threatening note. Fearing for her safety,
her brother Neil took her to see Luke Lombardi who is his best friend seeking assistance.
One look at each other, there was an immediate attraction. Their chemistry is short of amazing and hot.
Luke is keeping a secret from her as to his real identity. What would Cassie's reaction be when she knows
the truth of Leo being a shifter? Will they have an HEA? You will have to one click and find out.
